The Whitehaven Foyer is delighted to announce the appointment of Russell Norman as Chair of its Board. Russell has been a Trustee of The Foyer since its inception back in 2009 and therefore has a wealth of knowledge of the organisation. Outgoing Chair, Willie Slavin will remain a Trustee but felt the time was right to reduce his duties and hand the reigns to someone new. “I took on this daunting challenge which has become one of the most rewarding tasks that I have been honoured to undertake. I am totally indebted to all those people who have shared the responsibility so generously. My sincerest of thanks to everyone who makes The Whitehaven Foyer such a valued and valuable asset to our community, especially its young people in need”.
The Trustees thanked Willie for his exemplary leadership of the organisation over the last eight years, the organisation is now in a much better place to respond to the many and varied challenges we face in governing the critical services we provide for the young people in our care.
The Board also welcomes a new member with the appointment of Travis Drake. Travis has come full circle as he was previously a resident here at The Foyer and therefore his insight and lived experience will be invaluable in helping to develop the work that we do to support young people.
